CLAAS Introduces EVION Series: A Cutting-Edge Addition to the Combine Harvester Family

This cutting-edge combine harvester family showcases a host of features and technologies designed to enhance farmer productivity and efficiency while maintaining a strong commitment to ease of use and maintenance.

CLAAS, a renowned name in the world of agricultural machinery, has unveiled a game-changing addition to its combine harvester lineup – the EVION series. Building on the success of their LEXION and TRION models, the EVION series introduces a range of innovative features and technologies designed to enhance performance and efficiency for farmers.

Threshing Unit Revolution:

At the heart of the EVION is its revolutionary threshing unit. This powerful component features a single-drum tangential design with a substantial 600 mm threshing drum, synchronized impeller, and five 4.40-meter-long straw walkers. These features result in an impressive 0.95 m² threshing concave area and a 6.25 m² separation area provided by the straw walkers. The inclusion of standard preconcave flaps under the threshing drum allows for high throughput while maintaining excellent grain quality. Notably, the threshing drum speed is infinitely adjustable, and hydraulic concave clearance adjustment adds to the flexibility.

Enhanced Secondary Separation and Throughput:

To enhance secondary separation and throughput, CLAAS has redesigned the center risers of the straw walkers, leading to more effective crop mat loosening and faster transfer to the next straw walker racks. Sensor-based monitoring of the crop flow on the straw walkers provides early warnings of blockages, thus ensuring continuous and efficient operation even under challenging harvesting conditions.

High-Performance Cleaning:

Despite its compact size, the EVION features an efficient cleaning system. The sieve pan employs upper and lower sieves moving in opposing directions, optimized for various operating conditions. Standard equipment includes electric sieve adjustment and a loss measurement system, offering easy customization. Furthermore, an optional 3D cleaning system can compensate for lateral tilts when harvesting on slopes.

Impressive Grain Tank and Unloading Efficiency:

The integrated grain tank boasts a capacity of 5,600 liters in the EVION 410 and 6,500 liters in the EVION 430. Operators receive alerts as the fill level reaches critical points, ensuring uninterrupted operation. Unloading is swift, with all three EVION models benefiting from a 330 mm diameter grain tank unloading auger, resulting in a rapid unloading rate of 90 liters per second.

Innovative Straw Chopping and Spreading:

Efficient straw chopping and spreading are paramount for many farmers. The EVION offers an optional 72-knife straw chopper, a first in its class. Adjustments require no tools, and switching between chopping and swathing is a breeze. Straw guide plates are manually adjusted to ensure uniform distribution, even with a cutter bar width of 6.80 meters.

Powerful and Fuel-Efficient Engine:

Both EVION models are equipped with a 6.7-liter Cummins B6.7 engine, meeting the Stage V emission standard. This engine provides high torque at low revs, ensuring optimal performance. The engine management system is designed to reduce fuel consumption by up to 10 percent.

Robust and Low-Maintenance Design:

The EVION series is built for reliability and ease of maintenance. Its unique hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems ensure reliable operation in various conditions. Daily cleaning tasks are simplified with an optional air compressor, equipped with multiple connection points.

Variable Ground Drive:

The ground propulsion system is equipped with a 3-speed manually adjustable hydrostatic drive, offering customers the flexibility to select their preferred top speeds from options of 20, 25, or 30 km/h. Additionally, customers have the freedom to opt for wheel sizes that best suit their individual requirements.
