On Sunday, The Bihar Agricultural University launched a unique radio programme on agriculture learning with an aim to benefit BAU students, researchers, and stakeholders. This programme is named ‘Radio Revision’ and is known to be the first of its kind in India.
On Monday, D R Singh, the BAU Vice Chancellor said,” the community radio station, 90.8 FM Green has conceptualized ‘Radio Revision’ to help the agri students in gaining agricultural knowledge, prepare for examinations, and excel the academic performance. This program’s hour-long summary of the topics taught during the academic semesters will get broadcasted in the evening hours each day before the examinations and the broadcast live will be also available on the internet.”
Applauding this initiative, Agriculture Minister Kumar Sarvejeet, said “All agricultural students across the country can access the “Radio Revision Programme” through internet radio with ease.”

R K Sohane, Director of Extention Education also appreciated this BAU’s initiative and also gave ideas for similar programmes for educating farmers about environmental change and its effects.
As per Shridhar Patil, the in-charge of the community radio station, these radio programmes are already serving the purpose of creating awareness on topics like hygiene, health, agri technologies and many more for rural women, youths and farmers.
