The Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) has unveiled a new initiative to ensure the swift and efficient movement of people on tractors during farmers' movements. They will appoint individuals as "Tractor Pramukh" in villages who will be responsible for coordinating the tractor-related aspects of such movements.

The details of these "Tractor Pramukhs" will be compiled and maintained at the BKU Union's head office and district-level offices, making them easily accessible when needed.

Rakesh Tikait, a BKU leader, explained that union leaders have been instructed to identify and collect information about tractor owners in villages. These individuals will be recognized and honored as "Tractor Pramukh" in their respective villages. Tikait drew a comparison to the BJP's practice of appointing "Panna Pramukhs" without elections, suggesting that if the BJP can do it, so can the farmers.

In the BJP, a "Panna Pramukh" is responsible for 20 to 30 voters in their neighborhood. They maintain close contact with these voters, ensuring that they reach the polling booth on election day and cast their votes in favor of the BJP.

According to Yogesh Sharma, the BKU district president in Muzaffarnagar, the process of appointing "Tractor Pramukh" in villages has already commenced. Union office-bearers at the district and division levels are actively working on this initiative.

Sharma emphasized that these "Tractor Pramukh" will play a crucial role during farmers' movements. They will be responsible for mobilizing villagers to join the movement and arranging transportation to the protest venue using their tractors.

Pratap Gurjar, BKU Baghpat district unit chief, highlighted the symbolic importance of tractors as a representation of the strength of farmers. Tractors played a pivotal role during the 13-month-long farmers' movement.

Gurjar explained that "Tractor Pramukh" would also contribute to raising awareness among people about farmers' issues and the government's alleged neglect. By centralizing data about village-wise "Tractor Pramukh," the union will have a clearer picture of the availability and movement of tractors during protests, making mobilization more efficient.

Rakesh Tikait emphasized that all "Tractor Pramukh" would be honored in their villages to ensure that people are aware of their role in facilitating farmers' movements. This initiative reflects the determination of farmers to streamline their protests and highlight their concerns.
