Awareness Programs and Distribution of Farm Equipment : Debates, Conferences Held in Kulgam
On the 5th day of ‘Good Governance Week’ organized under the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav with the theme “Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur” various activities were conducted throughout the day by various departments in the region. The program was opened by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat.
KULGAM: On the 5th day of ‘Good Governance Week’ organized under the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav with the theme “Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur” various activities were conducted throughout the day by various departments in the region.
The program was opened by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat.
Speaking at the event, DC said the purpose of the Swachta Mission is to provide toilet facilities and focus on cleanliness.
He added that the district had achieved the ODF policy and was now working on an ODF plus program aimed at managing waste in rural areas, as well as collecting and transporting perishable and non-perishable waste.
The Chairperson for Regional Development, Mohd Afzal Parrey highlighted various environmental issues. He added that excessive use of polythene was harmful to the environment. He said water resources were polluted and depleted in the region and behavior change was currently very important to preserve the environment from degradation.
The program was attended by ADDC, ACD, ACP, and other officials.
Meanwhile, under ‘Good Governance Week’, the Department of Agriculture today distributed tractors, carts, Soil health cards to beneficiaries donated by the Deputy Commissioner to the Secretary’s Office, here.
The ISM Department has launched a free distribution of free immunization resources to the people and similarly, ITI College organized a Seminar on the topic, 'The Importance of Skills Development. Other departments including Horticulture, MVD, Revenue, and Labor Department have also organized a series of programs under ‘Good Governance Week’.
