Arunachal Pradesh Launches 'One Circle, One Product' Drive for Agricultural Growth, Distributes Sprayers to Farmers
The 'One Circle, One Product' scheme not only facilitates agricultural modernization but also aligns with the broader ODOP program led by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
In a significant move to enhance agricultural development and empower local farmers, Chief Minister Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh recently initiated the 'One Circle, One Product Initiative' in four revenue circles within the West Siang district of the state. The launch ceremony saw the distribution of essential sprayers to four thousand progressive farmers in the Kamba, Yomcha, Darak, and Liromoba communities. Each farmer received sprayers tailored to their specific focus crop, including potatoes, turmeric, peanuts, barley, and ginger, respectively.
Aligned with the national strategy for economic stimulation and self-reliance, CM Khandu emphasized the initiative's correlation with the Centre’s 'One District, One Product' (ODOP) policy. The primary objectives of this program are to foster agricultural innovation, integrate modern technologies, and enhance trade linkages to ensure better remuneration for farmers' products while increasing their incomes.
