Arunachal Pradesh Govt Provides Farming Equipments Under ANKY Scheme for Agricultural Boost

In a significant move to bolster agriculture production and promote self-reliance in Arunachal Pradesh, the farmers of the Nampong assembly constituency in Changlang district were granted farming equipment under the Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana (ANKY) scheme. The local MLA of Nampong, Laisam Simai, distributed 35 tractors and power tillers today to progressive farmers and beneficiaries of the 51 Nampong region.

The ANKY scheme, a flagship program initiated by the state's agriculture department, aims to transform the rural economy by mechanizing farming practices and enhancing productivity and income. The implementation of this scheme marks a significant step toward achieving the goal of making Arunachal Pradesh self-reliant in the agricultural sector.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Laisam Simai emphasized the positive impact that mechanized farming can have on rural communities. He stated, "Mechanized farming will not only enhance productivity but also contribute to the economic empowerment of our farmers. By equipping them with modern farming equipment, we are fostering their self-sufficiency and paving the way for a prosperous future."

The Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana, launched by the Arunachal Pradesh government in 2022, received a plan outlay of 60 crores during the fiscal year 2021-22. This unique scheme operates on a front-ended subsidy model, comprising 45% government subsidies, 45% bank loans, and 10% contribution from the beneficiaries themselves. The credit linkages for this scheme are provided through the State Bank of India, Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank, and Arunachal Pradesh Cooperative Apex Bank.

With the distribution of tractors and power tillers under the ANKY scheme, the government aims to foster a paradigm shift in farming practices by reducing manual labor and increasing agricultural output. By offering financial support and promoting mechanization, the scheme aims to uplift the farming community and ensure the realization of the state's vision for an Atmanirbhar Arunachal.
