Arunachal Governor Requests People to Get Engaged in Agri-Horti Sectors

Governor KT Parnaik, during his two-day tour of the Lower Subansiri district in Arunachal Pradesh, expressed optimism about the growth potential in the agriculture, horticulture, and tourism sectors. He encouraged the local population to actively engage themselves in these sectors. The Governor emphasized that the central government is prioritizing the development of the North East region, particularly Arunachal Pradesh.

He mentioned that numerous development programs and projects are in the pipeline for the coming years. He appealed to the people to participate in the development process and ensure the proper and timely implementation of welfare schemes introduced by both the state and central governments.

As part of his visit, the Governor interacted with the residents of Yazali and neighbouring villages. Upon his arrival in Yazali, he received a traditional reception from officials, the public, and cultural troupes. Alongside his wife, Anagha Parnaik, the Governor also took part in a plantation program at Potin Viewpoint, where they planted saplings.

In Ziro, the Governor held discussions with the heads of various departments at the district secretariat. He reviewed ongoing developmental programs, schemes, and projects in the district. The Governor commended the "Seva Aap Ke Dwar" initiative and urged district officers to actively engage with the people, address their challenges, and resolve issues.

He emphasized that the officers bear the responsibility of efficiently managing the district and their success will be measured by the satisfaction of the beneficiaries. The Governor encouraged the officers to adopt departmental automation to improve record-keeping and enable strategic analysis.

During the review, the Governor assessed the flagship programs introduced by the central and state governments. These encompassed education, healthcare, highways, the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (a rural road development scheme), the Kisan Samman Yojana (an income support scheme for farmers), opening bank accounts, pension disbursement, bank credits, healthcare services, drug addiction cases, water harvesting, and coordination among survey workers.

Local MLA and State Minister for Agriculture, Tage Taki, Deputy Commissioner Bamin Nime, and other district officials participated in the meeting and provided their inputs.

Furthermore, the Governor met with the GBs (Gaon Burahs, village chiefs) and members of the Supun Bulyang Council in the Ziro area at the Dree Festival Ground. He urged the GBs to continue their important role in maintaining social order. The Governor applauded the Supun Bulyang Council for preserving the rich traditions of the Apatani community. Acknowledging the community's high literacy rate, he advised the youth to embrace entrepreneurship and innovation.
