Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, a strong advocate for farmers' rights, personally transferred the money to eligible farmers by pressing a button symbolizing the government's efficiency and transparency in disbursing funds. The event took place in Puttaparthi, Sri Sathya Sai district, on November 7, 2023, at 10 a.m. Each farmer received a sum of ₹4,000, providing them with much-needed financial assistance during the ongoing kharif harvesting season.

The YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme is one of the key parts of the YSRCP government's pro-farmer policies. It makes sure that all eligible farmers in the state get ₹13,500 every year in three installments. The first installment of ₹7,500 was given out in May, which is when the kharif season starts. This gave farmers a strong foundation for their agricultural work. The second installment is being given out during the kharif harvesting season, which will help farmers' incomes even more. The third installment of ₹2,000 will be given out in January or February, which will help farmers during the rabi harvesting season.

The government has so far disbursed a total of ₹33,209.81 crore to farmers under the YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme over the past four years. This remarkable feat highlights the government's commitment to empowering the agricultural sector and ensuring the well-being of farmers.

Unlike the previous government, which promised to waive off a crop loan of ₹87,000 crore in 2014 but could only waive off ₹15,000 crore during its time in office, the YSRCP government has always kept its promises and even done more than it said it would.

While the election manifesto promised annual assistance of ₹12,500 to farmers, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government has given them even more by adding ₹1,000 to the amount every year. This shows the government's commitment to improving farmers' financial security and making sure they can invest in their agricultural businesses.
