Amit Shah Inaugurates IFFCO's Nano DAP Manufacturing Plant, Suggests Farmers To Follow Natural Farming

IFFCO announced that its newly inaugurated plant in Kalol would be capable of producing 500ml IFFCO Nano DAP (liquid) bottles, equivalent to one bag of conventional DAP. With a remarkable production capacity of two lakh bottles per day, the plant is poised to meet the rising demand for this innovative and sustainable agricultural solution.

In a significant development aimed at transforming Indian agriculture, the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) unveiled its cutting-edge Nano Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) manufacturing plant in Kalol. The inauguration, held on Tuesday, was graced by the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who expressed confidence in the plant's potential to revolutionize farming practices in the country.

Nano DAP, a revolutionary product, is set to play a pivotal role in supporting the transition from conventional fertilizer-based farming to natural and sustainable farming methods, all while maintaining crop productivity. Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the profound impact this shift could have on the agricultural landscape.

During the inauguration ceremony, Minister Shah expressed his unwavering belief that IFFCO's nano urea and nano DAP would unquestionably earn a prominent position in the upcoming list of significant agricultural innovations in the next decade. He stressed the significance of motivating farmers to transition from conventional fertilizer practices and adopt natural farming methods.

Nano DAP is specifically engineered to ensure minimal environmental impact. Unlike traditional fertilizers, it does not percolate into the ground, thus preserving the ecosystem, including earthworms, which are essential for natural farming practices. This sustainability-focused approach has garnered significant attention and support within the agricultural community.

Minister Shah also urged farmers to make a gradual transition from granular urea and DAP to their liquid counterparts. He advised farmers to experiment with nano urea for a couple of years as they prepare their land and receive certification for natural farming. This strategy aligns with the government's vision for sustainable agriculture, aiming to balance environmental stewardship and food security.

Highlighting the government's commitment to supporting farmers, Minister Shah credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring that the burden of rising fertilizer costs, particularly following the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, did not fall on the shoulders of farmers. The resulting surge in fertilizer subsidies, from Rs 73,000 crore in 2013-14 to a substantial Rs 2.55 lakh crore, was a testament to the government's dedication to the agricultural sector.

In a statement, IFFCO announced that its newly inaugurated plant in Kalol would be capable of producing 500ml IFFCO Nano DAP (liquid) bottles, equivalent to one bag of conventional DAP. With a remarkable production capacity of two lakh bottles per day, the plant is poised to meet the rising demand for this innovative and sustainable agricultural solution.

The inauguration of the Nano DAP manufacturing plant marks a significant milestone in India's pursuit of sustainable and eco-friendly farming practices. As the agricultural sector looks towards a brighter and more sustainable future, IFFCO's pioneering efforts and Minister Shah's resounding support are set to be a driving force in this transformative journey.
