Ahmednagar To Setup Its First Solar Agri - Feeder
Government to set up its first solar agri feeder setup in Ahmednagar.

Recently, due to improper availability of power supply, farmers have been facing immense difficulties, which causes hindrances in performing farm activities.
Therefore farmers have demanded a 12 hrs power supply for easy farm operations. To resolve these issues, the government has decided to set up its first solar agri feeder setup in the Ahmednagar district acquiring an area of 5.45. To supply proper electricity, a five MW feeder is being set up in two villages of Rahata Taluk - Kelwad Budruk and Kelwad Khurd.
This solar power has been linked with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited ( MSEDCL) grid. Therefore it will help farmers to have enough supply of power for performing different operations on farm sites.
Rahata tehsildar, Kunday Hiray told that Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, guardian minister of the district is targeting to set up this project in taluka.
He also told that “suitable planning has been done for this project based on his directions”.
According to the officials, the power setup linked to the plants will generate electricity depending on the quantum of electricity being produced.
Deputy Chief Minister , Devendra Fadnavis added by the end of this year 30% of agriculture feeders across the region will be powered by solar energy. Also, unused fertile lands and government land will be fully used for farming activities.
