75% subsidy will be given on solar pump

According to information received from sources, farmers are being encouraged for irrigation work under PM Kusum Yojana. The government has planned to provide electricity and solar pump sets for agricultural purposes free of cost to provide benefits to the farmers under PM Kusum Yojana. So that they can irrigate the fields well and the farmers will also benefit in income.

The Chief Minister of Chandigarh Mr. Manohar Lal has set a target of installing 50 thousand solar pump sets in the state. The government has started the work of installing 13,800 solar pump sets. Every farmer can apply for a solar pump under Bhai Yojana. He further informed that every year a subsidy of about Rs.6500 crore is being provided to the farmers. Adoption of solar energy will save water and also reduce the burden of subsidy, which will save diesel and increase income.

How Many Solar Pumps Have Been Installed So Far?

According to CM, 25,897 solar pump sets have been deployed in the last 7 years. The government is subsidizing these pumps to the tune of 75%. The Chief Minister also distributed the Solar Water Pumping Program handbook as well as a utility booklet for farmers.

The CM said that the central government has given a target to install 22,000 solar pumps this year. This is being completed. On this occasion, he interacted with women farmers Krishna and Trilok Singh of Hisar, who installed solar pumps, During the conversation, the farmers apprised the Chief Minister that they had to spend only 25% of the amount; the remaining money was given by the government.
