1,851 Agriculture & Rural Development Banks to Embrace Computerization, Undergo Digital Conversion

In a significant move aimed at modernizing and empowering the cooperative sector across India, the Ministry of Cooperation has received approval for a groundbreaking initiative. The project entails the computerization and strengthening of registrars in all 28 states and 8 union territories, as well as 1,851 Agriculture and Rural Development Banks (ARDBs) operating across 13 states.

The Ministry of Cooperation announced the approval of this visionary initiative, stating that it draws inspiration from the successful computerization scheme implemented for all Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) in the country. This centrally sponsored scheme seeks to usher in a new era of digitalization, streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency across the cooperative banking sector.

Under this initiative, a national unified software will be introduced, enabling seamless computerization of offices belonging to the Registrar of Cooperatives in all States and Union Territories. This unified approach aims to standardize and optimize the functioning of cooperative institutions, ensuring they operate efficiently, transparently, and with greater accessibility.
