Tractor tires play an important role in providing motion and passing with strong cuts in the fields. There is a requirement to balance the tractor tires. We have discussed a unique way through which tractor tires can gain weight to carry overload implements or machines. Now the question arises why fill tractor tires with water and calcium chloride? As the tractor goes through various wear and tears therefore to increase its durability and add more weight we use water and calcium chloride in the tires.

Following are different steps to fill water and calcium chloride in tires:-

  • Begin by elevating the wheel and then proceed to remove the valve from the tube.
  • Once the tube is removed, deflate it completely.
  • Rotate the wheel until the valve reaches the top position for easy access.

  • Thoroughly inspect the valve for tightness and any potential leakage issues.
  • Verify that the valve is securely fastened and free from any possible air leaks.

In some countries with extremely cold conditions, the other alternative option for water is through calcium chloride application. The following are certain advantages which include:-

- The calcium chloride doesn't freeze when filled inside the tire even in low temperatures.

Effective Measures while applying Calcium Chloride

The following are some of the effective precautions taken while applying Calcium Chloride to fill inside tires or tubes:-

  • To produce calcium chloride, the recommended procedure involves introducing CaCl2 into water.
  • Once CaCl2 is mixed with water, a noticeable rise in temperature occurs after a certain period. It is advisable to exercise patience and allow the water to cool down before transferring it into the desired container.
  • To counteract the acidic properties of CaCl2, it is recommended to incorporate 0.5 kg of lime for every 45 kg of calcium chloride.
  • It is crucial to note that this particular solution should not be utilized as an anti-freezing agent for radiators, as it is not suitable for that purpose.
  • When handling the solution, caution must be exercised to prevent direct contact with other metal components.
