Working Speed

Tread Depth
Another significant distinction between a tractor tire and a sprayer tire is tread depth. Sprayer tires typically have an R-1 tread pattern, whereas tractor tires typically have an R1-W tread pattern. The main distinction is that an R1-W lug design is 20% taller than an R-1, ensuring greater traction transfer from the tractor to the ground.
Tread Design
The first thing to notice is the number of lugs in each design; the sprayer tire has 29 pairs of lugs, while the tractor tire has 23 pairs. The tread void or lug void on the right sprayer tire is much smaller or narrower than on the left tractor tire. Tread void or lug void is defined as the distance between the lugs, which is smaller in the case of sprayer tires due to the increased number of lugs. Because the lugs are closer together, the tread provides a much smoother ride. A sprayer spends more time on the road than a tractor. The lugs are wide to ensure stiffness when the machine is under high load with the tank or hopper full.
