Success Story : Medicinal Man Of Kerala
Here is the success story of an engineer Ezekiel Poulose from Kerala who devoted his 14 years to finding and growing 500 medicinal varieties and planting the rarest medicinal plants. His inspirational story has helped several people to attain this passion and work for humans and to encourage others to expand their knowledge.
Ezekiel Poulose who hails from Kerala owns a 4-acre land and dreams of creating more than 1000 medicinal plants in his garden. For 14 years he dedicated his time to medicinal plants. In the year 2007 to 2008 when his interest in the collection of medicinal herbs began then and there he decided to expand his collection and knowledge. This helped him not only earn profits but help others in treating different ailments.
He says “When he got his first job to travel around the country he took a collection of medicinal plants on a serious note”. From equally interested fellow mates, he took lots of advice, expand his area of knowledge, and kick-started to collect even the rarest species of medicinal plants. Sometimes he either had to exchange a plant for receiving the other rarest medicinal species or he would purchase and sell others for free. Through his exquisite work, he also became a part of a community of medicinal plant collectors.
Infact his friends from Northern regions and Karnataka help him to find some rare species of medicinal plants. He also says that people generally visit his garden in search of those medicinal plants which can help in treating ailments smoothly.
He has always prioritized collecting medicinal plants even in his busy schedule. Infact he engages his children in growing new saplings from the existing medicinal plants.
He says that “Nature Knows its best way when it comes to healing”.If someone knows the actual cause and correct formula for the treatment then people need not require to run to hospitals for those diseases which can be easily cured.
Therefore for Ezekiel, he wants to achieve medicinal plants which can cure different ailments. Infact these medicinal plants having the best medicinal properties could easily render an individual's situation.
Apart from growing medicinal plants he also aims to practice integrated farming. This means that growing fish will help him generate sludge of 145000 L which will further be used as food for ducks to feed them well. This will help him invest minimally, save resources and use other resources efficiently. Currently, Ezekiel has 500 varieties of medicinal plants which include rudraksha, paratha, cluster fig, gurmar, Lakshmi taru, and betadine plants. These will help to cure skin diseases. He also has Anali vegam for treating vampire bites. From engineer to Gardner, he has influenced people across several regions to take it as a passion, to earn profits and help others.
