What is the process?
To avail themselves of the benefits under this extension, the heirs are required to submit the death certificate of the deceased farmer along with the necessary application documents. The Uttar Pradesh government is reportedly spearheading this initiative, enabling the heirs to apply online through Common Service Centers (CSC). Once the application is submitted, hard copies of essential documents must be presented at the office of the Deputy Agriculture Director in Mau for verification.
The required documents for the application include:
* Death certificate of the deceased farmer
* Aadhaar card of the applicant farmer
* Farmer's land documents
* Applicant's mobile number linked to Aadhaar
* Bank account details of the applicant, etc.
Requirement of e-KYC
Furthermore, the applicant must undergo e-KYC (Know Your Customer), a mandatory process introduced by the government for all farmers registered under PM Kisan Yojana. This process ensures the accurate identification of beneficiaries and expedites the subsidy disbursement.
In the district of Mau, Uttar Pradesh, where the initiative is initially taking shape, there has been a push to complete e-KYC for eligible farmers. As of now, out of 2,90,513 registered farmers, 2,81,109 have completed their KYC. The remaining farmers are urged to complete the process promptly, either at public service centers or by coordinating with Agriculture Department personnel who are actively assisting in the KYC completion process.
For the broader context, the state of Uttar Pradesh has seen 1.77 crore farmers completing the e-KYC process, with Bhulekh numbering for 2.26 crore farmers and Aadhaar seeding of bank accounts for 2.04 crore farmers. However, it's crucial to note that only those farmers who have successfully undergone Bhulekh marking, Aadhaar seeding, and e-KYC are eligible for the benefits of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. The government is encouraging farmers to seize this opportunity and complete their e-KYC, ensuring they do not miss out on the scheme's 15th installment.
