We are very familiar with these two words and we also know what kind of work these machines do. However, because they are so similar, most people get them mixed up. The planter machine is designed to plant larger seeds and cannot be used with seed drills. Planters are available with an odd number of row units ranging from 2 to 48. The farmer can plant as few as two rows or as many as 48.
