Inspirational Story of Padma Shri Recipients "Kisaan Chachi" Rajkumari Devi
Rajkumari Devi is a farmer from India. Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award, was bestowed upon her. Kisan Chachi was born into a poor Bihari family, and due to her family's poverty, she married at a young age.
Rajkumari Devi from Muzzafarnagar in Bihar was raised in a low-income family and married at a young age. She never stayed home after her marriage because she believed in working hard to achieve her goals. Rajkumari Devi joined several SHGs after her marriage to learn how these organizations functioned before starting her own SHG to help the community. With the help of her SHG, Rajkumari Devi provided jobs and employment to numerous low-income families.
Rajkumari devi decided to learn agricultural activities after learning that her total land holdings of 2.5 acres weren't enough to support a family of five. She then began cultivating fruits, vegetables, and other crops. Unlike other farmers, who merely sold their grown crops in the market, she saw an opportunity to start her own business and began producing pickles, jams, and other preserves.
She battled to finish her education after getting married and became the owner of the Kisan Chachi brand, which is well-known for producing pickles (aachar). This helped other women and housewives in the area to make money as well. She never believed that married women couldn't pursue an education.
Nobody can even imagine what she has done for her family. It's hard to believe that a woman who married at a young age and was preoccupied with household duties could have done something like this.
She is now an inspiration to a lot of people, particularly women in the nation.
