Odisha government has launched an Agriculture Entrepreneurship Promotion Scheme to help agriculture entrepreneurs in the state's rural areas. During the 'Make in Odisha Conclave 2018', the state Chief minister launched the scheme.

The Odisha government has launched an Agriculture Entrepreneurship Promotion Scheme to help agriculture entrepreneurs in the state's rural areas. Agri-entrepreneurs will work with 150-250 farmers in a cluster with mutuality of local community institutions under the scheme.

Motive of the Agriculture Entrepreneurship Promotion Scheme
The scheme's goal is to boost the rural economy and create self-employment and jobs in the state's rural areas. This system will be implemented three years after its announcement. Under the scheme, all rural entrepreneurs will be trained, and the program will benefit 1000 trained entrepreneurs.

• Each agricultural entrepreneur will work with 150 farmers across three farms to provide solutions to small and marginal farmers.
• The State Government has set aside Rs. 18 crores for the scheme's implementation.
• The scheme provides farmers with high-quality inputs as well as technology-based agricultural services.
• The scheme establishes enterprises to kickstart the state's rural economy.
• The scheme guarantees small and medium farmers at least 2-6 lakh per year.
• The scheme is being carried out under the chairmanship of the Odisha Agricultural Promotion and Investment Corporation (APICOL).

• To promote organic farming, the Odisha Organic Farming Policy was announced.
• The scheme was announced at the Make in Odisha Conclave 2018 during the Agri-Business Management session.

Eligibility Requirements
The scheme's eligibility requirements are as follows.
• The applicant must be a state resident.
• The applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 45.
• The applicant must own one acre of land with a built-up area of 2000 square feet.
