Govt Unveils 'CM Tractor Distribution Scheme' for Farmers: 50% Subsidy on Purchase of New Tractor

In a significant move to empower farmers and enhance agricultural productivity, the Jharkhand state government has introduced the Tractor Distribution Scheme. Recognizing the pivotal role tractors play in easing farming operations, the government has allocated a budget provision of Rs 80 crore to provide a 50 percent subsidy on tractors.

Under the scheme's first phase, 1,112 tractors will be distributed to economically weak and needy farmers at a subsidized rate. Additionally, the government aims to extend an 80 percent subsidy on 970 agricultural equipment, further facilitating farmers in their agricultural endeavors.

* The scheme aims to provide a 50 percent subsidy on the purchase of tractors to farmers across all districts of Jharkhand.
* The subsidy amount will be directly transferred to the beneficiary's account.
* Farmers, farmer groups, women self-help groups, water panchayats, water filtration committees, and other agricultural organizations in all districts are eligible to benefit from this scheme.
Budget Allocation:
In the initial phase, the government has allocated Rs 80 crore for the implementation of the scheme.
Subsidy Details:
* The scheme offers a 50 percent subsidy on the cost of tractors, with the farmer required to cover the applicable GST.

Eligibility Criteria:
* To qualify for the tractor subsidy, applicants must be 18 years or older.
* Farmers who haven't availed tractor subsidies in the past seven years are eligible.
* A commitment not to sell the subsidized tractor for five years, backed by an affidavit, is a prerequisite.
Priority Allocation:
* Preference will be given to farmer groups with members possessing more than 10 acres of total cultivable land.
* Priority will also be accorded to farmer groups where at least one member holds a valid tractor-driving license.

* Aadhaar card
* PAN card
* Residence certificate
* Farmer's Income Certificate
* Proof of residence
* Bank passbook copy
* Driving license
* Farm ownership documents
* Mobile number linked to Aadhaar
* Passport-sized photo of the farmer, and other necessary documents.
