Driverless tractors, the recently developed farming technology is a vehicles used for operating different farm activities on the ground. This machine is fully automated and its robust design allows the driver to make fewer efforts on farm sites. A driverless tractor can provide torque or tractive efforts when the speeds are low. Driverless tractors are independent and work like any other unmanned ground vehicle.
They have additional features like taking their own decisions related to speed, the decision regarding changing the steering or choosing the suitable activity on the different textures of soils. These tractors also provide precise accuracy during any farm operations. Therefore these automated tractors are divided into fully autonomous technology and supervised autonomy.
These self-driven tractors also use GPS and many other modified technology which operates wireless and they may be under guidance. These tractors can easily be tracked and they provide detailed records of farm production. Therefore development and usage of these tractors are required to be consistent efforts.
Different Types Of Technology Used In Driverless Tractors
-
Fully Autonomous Technology
Most driverless technology uses automated features. They consist of lasers with the primary function of navigating. There are controllers which are placed on the driver seats and help to navigate the whole task. They can easily check the positions and provide guidance to the whole machine.
These tractors are accompanied by sensors, radio receivers, and computers onboard to receive a command from the commanding station which is positioned in a local area. The sensors are used for tractors' safety.
-
Supervised Autonomy
In this kind of tractor, supervision is provided. A wireless connection is also linked between two vehicles for exchanging data.
The tractor which consists of a guiding operator sends the signal t other vehicles which receive the signal and imitate and work accordingly.
Technical Features
- It has an auto-implement lift that provides tractors to hold or lower the mounted or semi-mounted equipment.
- Skip passing feature allows tractor work to be in continuous form without any hindrance.
- It also has auto steer technology which has GPS provided in it, thus helping the tractor to travel in the same path.
